FIrst Color in the Big Painting

On sunday I eventually made it into the studio and started mixing paint. Color is one of the last things in painting that I think really intimidates me because I know I can really mess it up and its not always easy to fix. The color in this painting definitely was intimidating me, and kinda still is, but things still went very well. I ended up working until midnight, when the studios close, and got quite a bit done. As far as what I'm trying to achieve in the paint-job, I still want active brush-marks, but with more structure then most of the ink drawings and engaging color, which mean being careful not to muddy and smear my paint to much. Right now my favorite part is the off white mountain side on the left, and I don't really hate any of it.
