New Sumi Ink Drawings

In the first week or so of school I produced a bunch of ink drawings on paper in an effort to get back into the habit of creation as well as get some of the ideas I had had over the summer out into the real world. I think these are already a big step forward from the drawings from last year for several reasons. They have a greater range of value and pattern in mark making; they are more complex conceptually, dealing with more than just human forms; and their compositions deal with the entirety of the piece of paper.
